Always Play It Safe!

Did you know if you look down at your phone while traveling at highway speeds, you’ve gone the distance from home plate to the outfield with your eyes shut?

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month!  Your Durham Bulls remind you to put your phones down and focus on driving when behind the wheel.

What Is Distracted Driving?

Distracted driving is any activity that diverts attention from driving, including talking or texting on your phone, eating and drinking, talking to people in your vehicle, fiddling with the stereo, entertainment or navigation system — anything that takes your attention away from the task of safe driving.

Distracted driving is the cause of 1 in every 5 traffic crashes on North Carolina roads and highways – do your part to prevent injuries and deaths by avoiding distractions when behind the wheel.

ADVERTISMENT

  • Never text or message while driving.
  • Keep your hands on the steering wheel – put down your phone.
  • Be a good passenger and encourage the driver to avoid distractions.
