Our Mission
For the official public launch of NCAST, the focus is on promoting awareness of safety issues specific to younger motorists.
Teen drivers are especially at risk on the roads, with vehicle crashes the leading cause of death in America among those under 21.
The inexperience and impulsiveness of teen drivers is a significant reason for their high crash rates, making important the safety features of the vehicles they drive as well as getting plenty of supervised driving practice.
Slow down, travel light, have a little fun.
For over 20 years, the 3rd Monday in June* has been designated as Ride to Work Day. This annual event offers more than a million commuters the opportunity to recognize motorcycles, mopeds, and – increasingly – electric scooters and bicycles as a fun, efficient and viable means to make your trip to and from work.
Not only does this day give participants a chance to leave a lot of the standard baggage of the daily commute behind, it reinforces safe and responsible riding habits, and reminds our fellow drivers in cars, SUVs and other vehicles to stay aware and share the road!
Everyone may enjoy a little less congestion, find parking a little bit easier, and make the beginning and end of your workday a little more enjoyable.

*With the recently established United States federal holiday of Juneteenth being the same day as the current RTW Day, many business and government entities will be closed. Because RTW Day is about riding to work (as well as for utility transportation), starting in 2024 RTW Day will annually be on the Second Tuesday in June.
